Ophthalmology, Versatile medicine, Severe Acute Respiratory SyndromeAbstract
Ophthalmology is characterized by being a versatile branch of medicine, with doctors who require great analytical and observational skills, as well as multiple skills to perform procedures in the clinic and operating room. These skills allowed a young ophthalmologist named Li Wenliang to alert his colleagues about a possible outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome at the end of December 2019 in the city of Wuhan, Hubei. His observations were spot on, however Dr. Wenliang passed away from the disease on February 7, 2020.
